Desperate Housewives - the best drama television!

(DesperateHousewives.com is now Desperate.TV - Desperate Housewifes, official website here for television drama!)

The Fashion & Clothes of Desperate Housewives

Perhaps as no televison drama before, Desperate Housewives is influencing fashion trends. Recently on an episode of "Desperate Housewives" the moms of Wisteria Lane walked the runway in a charity fashion show - modeling gowns by Bradley Bayou for Halston.

This fashion collaboration was scripted, but in the wake of the housewife hype, costume designer Cate Adair received an average of 50 unsolicited samples a week from designers hoping to get their clothes on the show. Retro aprons, gingham dishwashing gloves, even "Peanuts" T-shirts and more have been shipped to the show's set from Texas and beyond.

The show's biggest fashion moment yet, came a few weeks ago when Bree (Marcia Cross) tried to seduce her straying spouse clad only in a fur coat, pearls and a red lace La Perla bra and panty set. After that, bloggers on fan sites went wild, and a spokeswoman from Italy's La Perla says the $265 lingerie set has since sold out. The company does a lot of TV and film placement, she says, including the hot orange bikini Halle Berry wore in a James Bond flick, but nothing as successful as on this show. At first, many thought it was "Agent Provocateur" but for true lingerie fans, while both are very hot, they are two different styles.

Tom: I didn't know he was still at it; I mean, I figured he was getting too old. In some strange way I'm actually impressed.        privacy
